Silence is golden

Except when beholdin’

Our country’s cry to make noise

When silent is suffering

From bloodshed disrupting

First amendment’s duty is loud voice

If silence is deafening

Too quiet …is deadening

When holstering our protest of guns

And, proclaiming “pure evil”

Is presidentially feeble

A guarantee that nothing gets done

When Vegas so deadly

Grows silent already

We surrender to a culture of “violencers”

While protective gun lobbies

Shooting, their hobbies

Legislate to legalize silencers

If afraid to go deaf

From the outspoken left

We can’t ask their ears to be willing

Because firing their AK

Scares away prey

Killing their chance to be killing

Our sounds of silence

Are alternative violence

Passive aggressors’ quiet resistance

Let our call to arms

Be sounding the alarm

To our silent cease fire of indifference
