I do want to know you …honestly!
But, I can’t realize you, credibly,
Till the lens of my ego is myopia free,
And, you’re not eclipsed by a blinded me…

Unless I repeal presumptions fate
Of perceptions I blithely discriminate
The only love we’ll ever consummate
Is the self serving fiction I fabricate

Yes, I must see you from your point of view
At the frantic intersection of love and true
But, if I lose me, trying to find you,
You’re too much risk for this coward to pursue

Till then, imaginary friend…candidly
I’ll make believe you…by projecting me
Inventing the “you” I prefer to see
Pretending that I’m loving you, actually…
