The plantation owners stuck it to their slaves
Massuhs stipulated how their boys must behave
They didn’t have the balls to confer with their serfs
Just another stealthy power play aimed to coerce

Be assured zealous patriots it’s not about your flag
The NFL gets patriotic when ratings start to sag
It’s not national pride or honoring our military
It’s always and only about all things monetary

You revived citizens who feign country first
What States do you rise for; singing what words?
Though you stand for United, it’s divided you’re living
Monday, you’ll be back to prejudice, unforgiving

So, you’re pissed when your playas don’t genuflect
But, it’s really about them dissing white man’s respect
How dare these privileged overpaid transgressors
Challenge your country and you, their oppressors

Athlete protests are not about patriotism
But, systemized injustice, inequity, schism
Trumping their mission just arouses more hate
So, you never have to own making America great

Meanwhile boys, go express your ambitions
Just not in our homesteads, under any conditions
Get back on the field…they’ll be no repercussions
Keep beating each other… and, avoid those concussions
