The war to our east, real and projection

Threatens my flesh; pleads self-reflection

While my inner war: love battling fear

Determines my quality of life living here

As fear triggers all wars, outside and in

Our unhinged world, reflects me within

I hide posed, protected, disguising myself

No longer trusting my true me withheld

Thus I am my wars outside and in

Blaming you for true me withheld

When I don’t get my way disputin

I can bully you like Vladimar Putin

I start my own war when feeling my pain

Looking outside for targets to blame

My war with fear, amps my self-doubt

The more insecure, the more I face out

Depending on you to secure my self-worth

Expecting you as the real me deferred

……………………………………………………….

I know how fear kills, fear is my cancer

I know what love is, love is our answer

I know I complete us with my uniqueness

I know I deceive us with dodgy obliqueness

………………………………………………………..

But, dissing my selfhood, I’m deserting us

Surrendering real me, you don’t get enough

Till my dying self-love, stillborn, inside

Lies, unspoken voice, fear-gagged, tongue tied

…………………………………………………………….

Our war starts innocent, noting our differences

Afraid to differ lest compounding dissonance

Not melding contrasts, making love stronger

We weaken our bond by who’s right or wronger

Judgement builds distance from trenched separation

Full adversarial, we stoke self-preservation

It’s all about winning, now… and saving my ego

I don’t care anymore about a future where we go

Exterior voices, biased blueprintings

Opinion pandemic of fictionalized spinnings

We’re addicts to truth-less, infested partiality

Our critical reasoning, compromised reality

Too lazy to process whatever real facts

I’d rather mime others to cover my lacks

Worse, I no longer can know who I am

And, all you get now, is well practiced sham

Successful faking means you can’t love me

You just fall in like with my duplicity

Cheating on myself I can’t hold my pose

And, we head to blow up our phonies exposed

Meantime I’m pissed off, can’t hold my pose

Beginning to hate you cause

As hard as it’s sometimes to give you real me

I can love

When fear and mistrust are loving displaced

We earthlings will win our maligned human race

It takes initiative to process conclusions

We’re each uniquely indispensable
